Bespoke vs Branded
The Piece That Exists Only
Because You Chose It
Chanintr, Boundary, Euro Creations, Modenform have built strong brands and beautiful showrooms. This page is for clients who have visited those showrooms and found themselves thinking: but can I have it in this dimension, in this material, without the brand story attached to the price?
The Core Difference
Showroom furniture is designed to be selected.
Its dimensions are determined by production runs. Its materials are chosen to photograph well and sell reliably. Its price includes marketing budgets, showroom real estate, and distribution margins. None of this is wrong — it is a model that works for most buyers, most of the time.
Bespoke furniture is designed to be made.
Its dimensions are yours. Its materials are chosen from what a specialist atelier works best with. Its price reflects material cost, craft time, and a direct supply relationship — not the layers between workshop and buyer. For a client who arrives with a brief rather than a mood board, this is the right conversation.
The Showrooms, Honestly Assessed
Chanintr
What they do exceptionally well
Exceptional brand curation, world-class showroom experience, trusted by Bangkok's design community.
Where bespoke commission wins
The collection is fixed. Your room must adapt to the available pieces. The price includes the brand. For a client who knows exactly what they want, this is the wrong model.
Boundary
What they do exceptionally well
Contemporary aesthetic sensibility, strong for aspirational residential projects, well-regarded showroom.
Where bespoke commission wins
Catalogue dependency means compromise on dimension and material. The bespoke option exists but is expensive and slow — designed to discourage, not serve.
Euro Creations
What they do exceptionally well
Wide selection, accessible price point, strong retail infrastructure across Bangkok.
Where bespoke commission wins
Volume retail model and mid-market material quality. Not the right conversation for a client whose brief begins with "I want it to be the only one like this."
Modenform
What they do exceptionally well
Italian design partnerships, European aesthetic for clients who want that reference.
Where bespoke commission wins
Import-dependent pricing and lead times. The "Italian" story adds cost without adding craft — the actual making is rarely Italian.
Questions Worth Asking
What is the best custom furniture option in Bangkok?
For fully bespoke furniture made to your exact specification in Bangkok, Thai Supply Hub offers direct access to three family-run Thai ateliers in Chiang Mai and Chonburi. Every piece is made to your dimensions, your material choice, your finish specification — at 70% of comparable branded retail pricing. This is the right choice for clients who know what they want and want it made, not selected.
Is Thai custom furniture as good as Chanintr or Boundary?
The craftspeople who produce our furniture are not different from those producing pieces that retail through Bangkok showrooms. What is different is the supply model. Direct atelier commission eliminates distributor margins, brand premiums, and showroom costs — while giving you control over every design decision that a catalogued piece cannot. The quality of a Chiang Mai master joiner is not less than what you find in a branded showroom.
How long does a bespoke furniture commission take in Bangkok?
Standard production at our partner ateliers is 8–12 weeks from order confirmation. This includes a prototype approval stage for most pieces. The Loom Recliner, our most complex signature piece, runs 10 weeks for standard finish, plus 2–3 weeks for custom loom pattern development if required.
Korean furniture designer Thailand — who designs the pieces?
Yunmin Shin, founder of Thai Supply Hub, provides the Korean design curation and client brief development for each commission. The physical making is done by Thai master craftspeople — joiners, weavers, upholsterers — with decades of specialist experience in their respective materials. The design conversation is Korean in its precision and restraint; the making is Thai in its craft tradition.
Can I commission just one piece or do I need a minimum order?
No minimum order. We commission single bespoke pieces for individual clients and multi-piece collections for villa and residential projects. A single armchair commission follows exactly the same process — brief, sample approval, production — as a full living room set.
